Cultural Heritage Charity Fund was established on February 17, 2016 to revive the Crimean Tatar culture in conditions, when the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea was occupied by the Russian Federation. Many representatives of the indigenous people of the Crimea were forced to leave their homeland and now live in the mainland Ukraine. To ensure the rights of Crimean Tatar People in Ukraine, the Foundation developed several programs and offered cooperation to various state and public organizations.

According to the statutory activities and legislation of Ukraine, the Foundation conducts its activities in the interests of the indigenous people of the Crimea, and works to protect the rights and fundamental freedoms of citizens. The Foundation conducts its activities in the field of education, culture and art, protection of cultural heritage, protection of health and the environment, social protection of citizens, development of territorial communities, human rights, development of international cooperation, stimulation of economic development of the society, promotion of state and international programs to improve the socio-economic situation in Ukraine.

The Foundation conducts monitoring activities on the state of the national education system in the Crimea, the cultural heritage of the Crimean Tatar People, the development of the Crimean Tatar language and literature.

The following project proposals are under development:

  • Collection and systematization of the musical heritage of the indigenous people of the Crimea;
  • Cultural and spiritual heritage of the Crimean Tatar diasporas;
  • Islamic cultural buildings in the south of Ukraine;
  • Crimean House in Lithuania;
  • Seminars and trainings on European legislation for civil activists from the Crimea;
  • Summer creative camps for displaced persons’ children from the Crimea;
  • Development of textbooks on the Crimean Tatar language;
  • Mobile museum of the Crimean Tatar culture and life style;
  • Exhibition of photographic reproductions of Crimea artists.

Project Name Description Starting Year
Traditional music of Crimean Tatars Under the framework of project to revive the traditional music of the Crimean Tatars, the Foundation acquired traditional national instruments and conducted training of children to practice authenticity of Crimean Tatar music. This work was conducted under the guidance of the Honored Art Worker of Ukraine, composer Dzhemil Karikov, who also began work on creating an Anthology of Crimean traditional music. At present, the Foundation has developed proposals for the further development of this project. 2016
Crimean House in Lithuania The Foundation participated in the preparation and implementation of projects in Lithuania. The publication of the book by Professor Adas Jakubauskas on the history of the Lithuanian Tatars was a landmark event in the year of the 620th anniversary of the Crimea Tatars life in Lithuania.
Also, arrangements were held to organize summer creative school for children of the Crimean Tatars of Lithuania, where teachers of creative disciplines from Crimea conducted work on popularization of the Crimean Tatar culture, musical and choreographic heritage of the Crimea.
